1. Basic vs. Premium
Question:
What is the difference between Basic and Premium? Thank you for the answer.
Answer:
BLUEGREREN AFA.Premium is exclusively produced for BLUEGREEN and its partners with a patent-registered method without deep-freezing storage* and is directly air dried at 40 degrees Celsius within 2 to 3 minutes after the harvest.
*All other AFA.Algae generally are deep frozen and stored after harvest until the subsequent drying process. BLUEGREEN AFA.Basic is – as mentioned above – stored deep frozen and only processed when needed, i.e. dried as AFA.Premium.
With BLUEGREEN AFA.Premium we provide you with a product that ensures the conservation of all vital substances as well as all physical and energetic structures by means of high-end technology.
Of course AFA.Basic can be considered to be of highest quality due to the especially gentle drying process; but we accept the minimal losses in quality – that emerge from the deep-freezing storage – in order to be able to give you a low-priced product.
Sincerely,
Manfred Ludwig

Question:
Are the ingredients of the chlorella pellets bound to a milk protein? I ask because I suffer from milk protein insufficiency.
Thanks in advance
Dagmar Müller-List

Dear Mrs. Müller,
thank you very much for your query.
The BLUEGREEN chlorella pellets – as well as our BLUEGREEN ALPHA-, spirulina and Greenlight Plus pellets – are produced without a single additive. Furthermore, all BLUEGREEN products are free of milk protein and can therefore be consumed by you without hesitation.

3. Gluten in Afa Algae Premium
Question:
Hello, I would like to know if gluten is contained in your products, and if so: in which? I have an insufficiency and would be quite silly if I would break out in a rash afterwards. Thank you very much in advance.
Mary Mattiolo
Answer:
All BLUEGREEN products are free of gluten, with the exception of the algae power-bars. The Happybites are produced without gluten, but still may contain traces of it.

4. Green Light and Digevit
Question:
Hello, I have ADS and someone told me to take GREEN LIGHT with DIGEVIT. Well, and my question is, how many pills of green light and DIGEVIT can I take at the same time? And when would be the best time to do it? In the morning after waking up, or spread around the day? If you need my height and my age it’s 18 years, but I’ll soon become 19 and I have 1.79m and my weight is 73kg. I hope you are able to help me.
Yours truly,
Christina
Answer:
Dear Christina,
thank you for your query. Basically, our products are very effective foods. We are only allowed to give general recommendations for consumption.
Concerning GreenLight.Plus we recommend to start with two pellets a day to be taken in two portions (in the morning and midday). You should slowly increase the dose to 2-3 pellets two times a day and then increase the dose according to your feeling. Take less in the evening, since many ingredients directly affect the brain and make you alert (unless there will be a party; maybe then you should take it purposeful).
Digevit contains many enzymes that support the digestion. You should take one pellet per meal (supper, lunch – “rich” meals can be accompanied with two pellets).
GreenLight.Plus should always be taken before the meals, ideally 30 minutes in advance. Always ingest it with lots of clear water (without gas).
Good luck and all the best,
Manfred Ludwig

5. Greenlight Plus
Question:
Hello,
may my son (seven years old) also take the Greenlight Plus capsules or is the dose of the ingredients too high?
Answer:
Of course may a seven year old take Greenlight.Plus. He only has to take fewer amounts than adults according to the dose.
It should also be considered, if Kids.Plus/Kids.Plus² could be the better solution, since the formula has been adjusted to children’s needs.
In contrast to Greenlight.Plus, Kids.Plus/Kids.Plus² additionally contain probiotics and nutritional enzymes to support a healthy intestinal flora.

6. Kamut grass juice + barley grass juice
Question:
Is Kids.Plus in spite of the kamut grass and barley grass juice free of gluten?
Answer:
The gluten – according to our information – is located only in the grains of the crop and not in the grass. Therefore we assume that our products Kids.Plus, Kids.Plus² and Greenlight.Plus are free of gluten.

8. Kids Plus 2
Question:
Is Kids.Plus² food or a dietary supplement? Is there a table where the proportion of the ingredients is listed?
Thank you,
F. Suhr
Answer:
As all our algae products, Kids.Plus and Kids.Plus² are food. Dietary supplements often contain highly dosed substances (mostly synthetic) in order to correct a deficiency.
Our products are in general made from dried organisms like algae, grass juices etc…
Kids.Plus² consists of the following components:
AFA-algae
AFA-algae concentrate
Acacia syrup
Green kamut grass juice (kamut is a special type of wheat)
Barley grass juice
probiotic bacteria
Nutritional enzymes
A pellet weighs ca. 275 mg.
The composition is designed in a way so that the adequate portions for children would be 1-2 pellets in the morning and another one midday (to be taken with the meals).

11. Activating the production of melatonin?
Question:
Hello. Do the algae activate the production of melatonin in the body and if so, which alga in particular? I ask because near to my home there is a high voltage power line which as is known lowers the production of melatonin due to its electromagnetic field.
Claudia
Answer:
Melatonin is a hormone that is produced by the pineal gland. This organ lies directly in the area of the brain. Since especially AFA-algae contain many substances that directly supply the brain (essential amino acids, B-vitamins, vitamin C, omega-3-fatty-acids, taurine, phenethylamine) it is obvious that there is a harmonizing effect on the pineal gland. But we do not know any studies on that topic. Other algae, Spirulina and Chlorella as well, do not exhibit the spectrum as mentioned above.

12. Amount of AFA Algae for children?
Question:
Hello, my disabled child is three years old but only weighs 8,5 kg. Which amount of algae is appropriate in this case? Thank you.
Answer:
First of all we think that the parents have the responsibility concerning what their children should consume, and what they should not. Then, you don’t tell in what way your child is disabled. Third, we should talk about the question, what do you want to achieve by using the algae? Our range of products gives plenty of possibilities with different focuses.
You may get a first hint in our list “The key to harmony” on this website. We would like to point out, that our products are food and that we are not allowed to give medical advice.
For further information we are at your disposal.
Best wishes,
Manfred Ludwig

14. Price for Chlorella pellets
Question:
Hello,
the prices for chlorella pelltes very much differ depending on the vendor. You charge 55 Euro for 288g.
Chlorella pellets of Manako (250g) only cost approximately 20 Euro, for example at eBay. Pellets of Manako are constantly examined by the SGS-Fresenius institute with the focus on micro-organisms and heave metals. How can you justify this large price difference?.
Best wishes,
Thomas Schachner
Answer:
Dear Mr. Schachner,
There are – as it is the case with all products in the market – price differences as well as differences in quality.
Before we decided to offer chlorella pellets, we asked independent labs to make comparative tests. In this case the pollutant analysis you mentioned is of secondary importance to us, since all vendors we know offer unobjectionable goods.
Our focus is on the positive ingredients and therefore we made a list of “pros” that contribute to the high quality of BLUEGREEN chlorella:
cultivation in the highest Taiwanese mountain range, where also the used water stems from
on-site worker are very experienced in the cultivation of chlorella (25 years)
The algae have intact cell walls. Observations show that intact cell walls increase the algae’s ability to bind heavy metals and environmental toxins.
Pellets without additives and adhesive agents.
Very high amount of omega-3-fatty-acds (ALA, Alpha-Linolenic Acid)
Highest amount of chlorophyll and ß-Carotene*
Highest antioxidative potential
*in the samples examined by us.
It’s everyone’s affair to decide if the price difference is justified with regards to the mentioned criteria and to the efforts we make to ensure the highest quality.
Depending on our own standards you get from BLUEGREEN the best quality possible at a reasonable price.
Best wishes,
Manfred Ludwig

15. Hyperthyroidism
Question:
I suffer from hyperthyroidism. Can I take chlorella without objections (overdose of iodine)?
Answer:
The amount of iodine in BLUEGREEN chlorella lies in the mg-range per 100g. The amount of iodine is so low that - generally spoken - even with hyperthyroidism side effects can be counted out.
Thank you and best wishes,
Manfred

16. Spirulina,Chlorella, Afa Algae
Question:
Do you offer a product containing all three algae? Due to a tumor I lost my thyroid gland. Can I still take the algae with regards to the iodine? Looking forward to your answer.
Sincerely,
Britta Heil
Answer:
Dear Mrs. Heil,
in GREENLIGHT.PLUS as well as in our Power-Bars there are all three micro-algae (AFA, Spirulina and Chlorella) contained. The AFA-alga is intensified through a concentrate of AFA-algae. Valuable chlorophyll-carriers such as kamut-, alfalfa-, carrot- and barley juice complete the spectrum of ingredients.
The AFA-algae concentrate contains very much of so-called “Luck molecules” (phenethylamine).
The amount of iodine is very low in all ingredients and has in general no effects at all. In the AFA-algae it lies at 0,1mg per 100g and in the spirulina it lies at 20 µg per 100g. Also the other ingredients do not contain larger amounts, so that you can expect the total amount of iodine not to exceed 0,1g per 100g. On the iodine-amount of the fruits in our algae-power-bars we have no information.
For further information we are at your disposal.
Best wishes,
Manfred Ludwig

17. Toxins
Question
I would like you to give a statement concerning the assertions that the AFA-algae binds toxins and may therefore affect the liver in a negative way and that especially children are at risk when consuming it. Thank you, S. Schmidt
Answer:
All algae, no matter where they come from, exhibit the ability to bind toxins. The AFA-algae is no exception.
There are two aspects in this discussion:
1. Throughout their life the algae absorb lots of trace elements and minerals. This effect is wanted and makes the algae a perfect provider for these minerals and trace elements. You can have a closer look at the data on this website. Of course the algae also bind heavy metals, such as lead, cadmium, mercury or arsenic. These toxic substances lie – if our recommendations are respected – below 1% of the allowed threshold.
2. The naturopathic literature claims that algae are able to bind heavy metals and toxins in our organism. Those will be eliminated through the liver. This means that the liver will not get damaged through this process but that it has to work more than usual for a short time. This effect appears with all algae (see above) and is thoroughly wanted. If symptoms of a strained liver appear (headache, malaise), you should lower the dose and later one increase the consumption again.
Children can take the AFA-algae without objections. They contain many valuable vital substances that nourish not only the whole organism but especially the brain (see description of Kids.Plus and the comparative table AFA-algae vs. breast milk on this website).
Thus, AFA-algae are good food (no dietary supplement) especially for children.
Thank you and best wishes,
Manfred Ludwig

18. Vitamin C
Question:
If I take 3g of algae a day is my daily consumption of vitamin C satisfied or should I additionally take vitamin C?
Sincerely,
Michael Schönmann
Answer:
Dear Mr. Schönmann,
algae only have a very low – if at all – amount of vitamin C. They are not adequate to satisfy the need for vitamin C.
I assume, you take three gram of micro-algae (AFA, Spirulina or Chlorella). All these algae are alkaline, while vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is acerbic. If you opt to additionally take a vitamin C product then don’t do so at the same time as the algae, since both products may partly neutralize each other.
When it comes to vitamin C we recommend Mount Shasta MEGA C of our partner 999energy. This product combines natural vitamin C with OPC. OPC is an antioxidative substance, that increases the effect of vitamin C.
Best wishes,
Manfred Ludwig

19. Combination possible
Question:
Dear Mr. Ludwig!
For a longer period I took a dietary supplement (not synthetic!). A healer recommended me to take AFA.Premium to fight my problem (heavy metal deletion). Does it make sense, to combine the algae with the product “Maximol Solutions” or does AFA.Premium cover both components – additional vitamin- and mineral supply and heavy metal deletion? Which dose of AFA.Premium do I need with a weight of 50kg? Thank you in advance!
Best wishes,
Monika Lotzkat
Answer:
Dear Mrs. Lotzkat,
your dietary supplement obviously consists of much vitamin C and is therefore most probably acerbic. The algae are alkaline. If you take both products at the same time, they most definitely neutralize each other (at least in parts).
The AFA-algae are a wholesome food. Of course its ingredients are others than those of dietary supplements. So, we need to know, what you want to achieve. If you know, what is most important for you, you can make the choice which product fits your plans the best. Concerning your personal problem I have to refer you to the relevant literature since we are not allowed to make a corresponding statement.
By talking to our costumer consultant you can find out, which of our products is the best for your needs. You can talk to her Mo-Fr (9-16) by dialling the free number 0800 BLUEGREEN (0800/258347336)
Furthermore you have the recommendation of your healer.

20. Pregnancy
Question:
Can I take the algae-related products (especially AFA.Premium) while being pregnant without objections?
Answer:
Our advice would be: If the becoming mother is already used to micro-algae (AFA, Spirulina, Chlorella) there is no reason why she should not take the algae during pregnancy.
But you should not start with the consumption of micro-algae during pregnancy.
Best wishes,
Manfred Ludwig

21. Bio-certificate for Kids plus
Question:
Hello, my children take Bluegreen Kids.Plus for a longer period (6 per day). Is this product regularly examined for toxins and is there a bio-certificate?
Thanks,
Gaby
Answer:
Dear Gaby,
we are pleased that your children are fed with Kids.Plus and thank you for your confidence. Kids.Plus consists of highest value substances that are carefully selected. Especially the used AFA-algae are constantly examined for toxins etc. An official certification as a “Bio”-product is not possible since in the EU Bio-directives do not mention the micro-algae. Thus, a certification is not possible.
In the USA AFA-algae are “certified organic”.
Best wishes,
Manfred Ludwig

22. Blue Green

I’m searching for a pharmaceutical of Bluegreen that helps to fight Hepatitis C!

Concerning diseases such as Hepatitis C we are not allowed to give a statement in Germany.
